Introduction

What is layout and what is design? Layout is the print out or the user interface of idea or proposal that  show to people such as client or people that related to the specific sector. Design is the creativity and process that combine the element of multimedia and color to produce a output. Conclusion, layout design is the print out of creativity of ideal that related to a topic that using element of multimedia and color.

Element of Multimedia

Element of multimedia has five types, that are text, audio, animation, graphic and video. Text is the basic element of multimedia and involve the text type, sizes, colors and background color. Graphic is use to make the multimedia application more attractive  to user and help to illustrate ideas using picture. This can help user easy to use and easy understand. Graphic categories into two types, that are bitmap and vector. Bitmap also known as paint graphics that is real images that can capture from devices such as camera, or scanner. While vector graphic is drawn on computer and only require small amount of memory in storage device. Audio also can known as sound element that require use of speech, music and sound effect. Two types of audio are analog and digital audio. Analog audio is the original sound signal. While digital audio is digital sampling of actual sound. Normally audio use in multimedia is digital audio. Video is the element that provide a powerful  impact in multimedia, that can gain popularity because video can edit easily by user, can store in any storage device without changing quality of video, and can transfer within network allow non linear editing in any part of video. Transfer of video is depend on size of video.  Animation is the process of make the static image like moving. Animation can categories into 2 Dimension(2D) and 3 Dimension(3D). 2D animation is look like a picture in a paper surface and do not look like real. While 3D Animation can make a object look like a real thing in life and can look surrounding of the object.

Color

Design also need to use color to make the ideal more attractive to user and usage of color also important to a design because color can make how the design look like and what can user feel. Harmony and match of color can present professional of the designer. A designer need to know the color theory as basic knowledge to fill the multitude of definition,  concept, and design application. There are three basic categories of color theory that is very useful and logical to design. At the beginning, designer use color wheel to present all the color. The color wheel has three type of color that is primary color, secondary color and tertiary color. Primary color only has three colors that are red, blue and yellow. Secondary color is mixture of color in primary color and three color form such as green, orange and purple. While tertiary color are combine of color in secondary color. Color harmony is use to present the color of design and do not use a lot of color make the design complex. Color context is present the background color and front color in  a design. Background color cannot same with front color that make sure user understand meaning easily

Evaluation criteria of layout design

Layout design is a very important thing that make audience has interest to you and how professional you are. There are two level that can make you hold your audience, that are look and feel and usability.  Look and feel is the first image that show to the audience. This will show what and how you done on the job that audience given to you. This is the first step that you make the customer feel who you are.  Usability is the what actually the audience want and need on his business. This can show how much you can understand what the audience need. No matter how great your design, but if audience unlike to function, your design also is unusable. Design just a first image to audience and not all of what they need.
